Maria Brandon, M.S. CCC-SLP/L
The Speech House
Maria Brandon is a Pediatric Speech Language Pathologist and the CEO of The Speech House. She has a deep passion for working with children who have special needs. Since relocating from New York to Las Vegas in 2009, Maria has gained extensive experience in various settings, including CCSD, private practice, early intervention, and the Touro University Center for Autism.
Maria's educational background includes a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders from CUNY/Queens College and a Master of Science degree in Speech Language Pathology from Adelphi University. When the pandemic hit and Touro closed its clinic doors, she took the initiative to start her own practice to ensure continued services in the Las Vegas Valley. This led to the establishment of The Speech House, initially providing home visits.
From its humble beginnings of providing services from her car trunk, The Speech House has grown into a thriving practice with three locations in Las Vegas, Henderson, and Pahrump. Maria continues to provide Speech Therapy (ST), Occupational Therapy (OT), and Physical Therapy (PT) in both home-based and clinic-based settings. Furthermore, she actively contributes to the community by serving as a clinical supervisor for students in the speech-language pathology master’s program at Nevada State University. The Speech House also gives back by hosting free events for families and supporting organizations such as Gigi’s Playhouse, Miracle League of Las Vegas, PBS Kids, and serving as an Apraxia Kids/Walk coordinator.
Clinically, Maria is recognized as a preferred provider and specialist in children with Apraxia by Apraxia-Kids.org. She is an active member of IAOM and trained as an Orofacial Myologist by Neo-Health, specializing in Orofacial Myofunctional Disorders secondary to feeding difficulties. Maria is a multiple recipient of the ASHA ACE Award. Her training includes PROMPT, PECS, Gestalt Language Processing, Pediatric Feeding, Beckman Oral Motor, Articulation/Phonology, Augmentative & Alternative Communication, and she is Neuroaffirming. Maria is absolutely ecstatic about her ability to serve on the board of Accessible Adaptabilities to improve the lives of those in need.
