Melissa Golino, M.Ed. (Special Education), M.Ed. (Secondary Education), M.Ed. (Educational Leadership)
Ms. Melissa Golino is a dedicated educator and advocate with over 21 years of experience serving students with disabilities within the Clark County School District in Las Vegas, Nevada. Her extensive professional journey encompasses diverse roles including Secondary English Teacher, Special Education Teacher, Autism Instructor for High School (grades 9-12 and beyond), Special Education Instructional Facilitator, and Assistant Principal overseeing special education programs. A vital part of her work has involved facilitating the transition of students with disabilities from the K-12 the community environments, championing their independence and help where needed.
Ms. Golino's strong academic background includes three Master’s degrees in Special Education, Secondary Education, and Educational Administration & Leadership, as well as a Bachelor’s degree in English, from which she graduated summa cum laude. Ms. Golino's dedication to lifelong learning is further highlighted by her affiliation to The Nevada Association of School Administrators (NASA) certification, encompassing 90 hours of professional development, and numerous honors, including the Presidential Award from American Public University in Washington, D.C.
Ms. Golino expanded her impact by serving as the Director of Special Education for a Charter School in Nevada, overseeing Special Education programs across the state. Her leadership, combined with her extensive experience and academic background, positions her uniquely to advocate for and support individuals with special needs, including medically complex children.
Ms. Golino is honored to serve on the Board of Directors, working with fellow members to expand services, increase awareness, and improve the quality of life for those with complex needs, with a particular emphasis on the principles of Accessible Adaptability to ensure comprehensive support.
